The Winner Package

Football coaches often have different packages for different game situations. Some common packages are the two-minute drill, the goal line package, the red zone package and the nickel defense. The Winner Package consists of game winning plays from various spots on the floor. For example, have a baseline out-of-bounds play, a sideline out-of-bounds play and a length of court play. The time and score situation, along with the opponents defense, will dictate which play you run. The most important characteristic of the Winner Package is that you should only run these plays when a game winning situation presents itself. Avoid running these plays early in a game or multiple times during a season so they do not appear on your opponents scouting report. The element of surprise is vital to the success of these plays.
