Looking for a good read, check out this list. Below are my all time favorite sports books. Every time I read one of these, I take away something new. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have!
A Season on the Brink by John Feinstein
Coach Bob Knight granted Feinstein an all access look inside of the Indiana Hoosiers basketball program for an entire season. Arguably the greatest sports book ever written.
:07 Seconds or Less by Jack McCallum
NBA reporter spends an entire season as an 'assistant coach' with Mike D'Antoni's Phoenix Suns
Friday Night Lights by H.G. Bissinger
You think high school football is big in your hometown? Not only was a motion picture movie made about this book but so was a successful television series. Enough said.
Fall River Dream by Bill Reynolds
A look at Chris Herren's hometown and high school basketball team before he became popular for other reasons.
The Winner Within by Pat Riley
My favorite book about leadership and how to handle success.
Sole Influence by Dan Wetzel and Don Yaeger
How the shoe companies have infiltrated the game of basketball.
The Jordan Rules by Sam Smith
You may never look at the GOAT the same way after reading this!
The Last Amateurs by John Feinstein
An inside look at the Patriot League and their basketball programs.
Play Their Hearts Out by George Dohrmann
An outstanding read and description on all that is wrong with AAU basketball.
Can I Keep My Jersey? by Paul Shirley
The former Iowa State Cyclone uses humor to describe being cut from multiple NBA teams and what it is like to play in the CBA as well as all over the world.
The Book of Basketball by Bill Simmons
Every basketball fan has to read this one!
